Ed Dressler was the son of Polish immigrants, Anton John (1872-1938) and Rozalia "Rose" Rozanski Dressler (1878-1956). He was the only son in his family of 10 children (although one of two of siblings who died in infancy/early childhood may also have been male). He and Helen Laverne (Brumm) Wuellner were married in 1968, though they had known one another for a number of years by that time.
