WILLIAM BARBER DIES AT RED OAK HOSPITAL AFTER YEAR'S ILLNESS
Funeral services were held at Wolfe's Funeral HOme, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock for William W. Barber, 66, who died Saturday night in the Red Oak Hospital after a year's illness. He had been taken to the hospital a week before his death.
Mr. Barber met with an accident when a long man that resulted in the loss of one of his arms. He was interest in fruit growing and spent most of his life at that work.
He was born at Yankton, South Dakota, the eldest son of Wanton and Eliza Barber.
Surviving are three brothers and three sisters. They are A. A. Barker of St. Joseph, Missouri; E. E. Barber of Chadron, Nebraska, G. C. Barber of Ontario, Oregon, Mrs. R. M. Gourley of Villisca, Mrs. Fred Teas of Fremont, Nebraska, and Mrs. J. M. Sheridan of Carbon. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
The Rev. E. M. Buchler was in charge of the final rites and burial was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Pall bearers were Elias Lewis, Axel Lenroot, Wesley Stallings, Ben Cohoon, F. S. Pierson, and John Farlin.

Mark) Sheridan of Carbon, IA. His parents and one brother Benjamin Franklin Barber proceed him in death. The Rev. E. M. He spent a lot of time helping his dad with the garden, strawberry beds and the honey bees as well as yard work. Helped his dad with his brother Benjamin's children when his brother and his wife died of tuberculosis. When Wanton died the family of Ica Beard Barber farmed the children out to their relatives. He stayed on at the family house until he became ill.
William never married. He had no children.
