Mrs. B. A. Gault, 83, a pioneer of the valley since 1876, died at the Ellensburg General Hospital Wednesday afternoon where she had been confined the past two weeks. Private funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Frank Seidelhibbber will conduct the services of the Christian Science Church.

Mrs. Gault was born in Chicago November 1, 1874 and came to the Kittitas Valley with her parents when she was two years old. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Voice homesteaded in the northeast part of the valley in 1876. After two years they moved to Wenatchee, improving a desert claim there. Later they came back to the Kittitas and farmed for many years east of Ellensburg, retiring in 1912.

Mrs. Gault was married here June 23, 1890 to Byron A. Gault who died December 29, 1935. In his late years Gault was one of Ellensburg's well-known real estate men. She was a charter member of the Ellensburg Mothers' Club and its second president.

Mrs. Gault leaves three sons and two daughters, George Gault of Olympia, Ed Gault of Harper, Washington, Robert Gault of Portland, Mrs. L. J. (Bessie) Chambers of Ellensburg and Mrs. Kenneth (Harriet) Noble of Ellensburg; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. J. Y. Edwards of Ellensburg and Mrs. Ruth Crimp of Enumclaw.

The family settled in this valley shortly before the Indian troubles broke out in 1878.
