Alma Louise Haugtvedt was born February 2, 1904 near Greenbush to Syver and Gina Haugtvedt. She attended school at Greenbush and was married there on March 5, 1925 to Elmer Everson. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Deer township, Roseau County until 1946 when they moved to a farm near St. Hilaire. In 1952, they returned to the Greenbush community. There they farmed in Herian Township, until they retired in 1966 and moved into the village of Greenbush to make their home.

Mrs. Everson died at the Greenbush community hospital on May 14, 1969. She had been in failing health for three months. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bethel Lutheran Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband Elmer (who later died October 12, 1987 at Grand Forks, ND); three daughters Mrs. Stewart (Doris) Efteland, Mrs. Morris (Adeline) Halvorson, and Mrs. Philip (Mercedes) Gust, all of Minneapolis; two sons: Milo Everson, also of Minneapolis and Vernon of Grand Forks, ND and 12 grandchildren. She is also survived by seven sisters and two brothers. One sister and four brothers and her parents preceeded her in death.
