Sgt. James D. Lambert
Services at pending at Brennan Funeral Home in Topeka for Sergeant First Class James Deaver Lambert, 28, Fort Bragg, N.C. formerly of 219 Freeman, who died Thursday, Oct. 11, in North Carolina.
Army officials said Sgt. Lambert died of injuries received in an automobile collision.
Sgt. Lambert was a Ranger with Special Forces in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. He was a 10 year veteran of the Army.
He was born Feb. 24, 1956, at Hiawatha, and lived most of his life in Topeka.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Beverly Friess, 219 Fremont; his stepfather, Bernard Friess, Topeka; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. James Lambert, Hiawatha; six sisters, Jolene Lambert, Denison, Jennifer Lambert, Hiawatha, and Lynnette Shepherd, Bernadette Warner, Jeanette Friess and Annette Friess, all of Topeka; a brother, Vince Lambert, Topeka; and grandparents, Mrs. Gladys Lambert, and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Oswald, all of Hiawatha.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 A.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic church for Sgt. First Class James Deaver Lambert, 28, Fort Bragg, N.C., formerly of 219 Freeman, who died Oct. 11, of injuries suffered in an auto accident in North Carolina.
Mr. Lambert will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Brennan Funeral Home where rosaries will be recited by the Hayden Mothers Club at 6:30 p.m., by the parish at 7 p.m., and by Knight of Columbus Council No. 2608 at 7:30 p.m.
Among survivors is his mother, Mrs. Beverly Friess, 219 Freeman.
Burial will be in Claytonville Cemetery near Horton.
