Gletus R. Hardiman, 92, of Princeton passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at his home. He was born on October 2, 1920 in Montgomery Township to James E. and Luella (Stanley) Hardiman.

His greatest love other than his wife and children was farming. He retired from farming at the age of 88. He was dedicated to the business of farming and often said that he enjoyed going to work everyday. He liked giving advice and providing for his family.

He was proud of being a veteran having served in the military during World War II.

Viewing harness racing was an enjoyable pastime. Singing gospel songs whether at home or in church was spiritually uplifting to him. Church attendance was at Bethel A.M.E. in Princeton and Wayman Chapel A.M.E. in Lyles Station.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ernestine (Proctor) Hardiman; daughters, Phyllis (Hardiman) Walker of Indianapolis, IN, Linda K. Hardiman of Racine, WS, Beverly (Nathan) Armstrong Baltzell of Evansville, IN; son, Gary Hardiman of Terre Haute, IN; grandson, Jason Armstrong of Evansville, IN; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Verna Banks and Erma Johnson both of Indianapolis, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and five brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with military rites, Rev. Arthur Cortez officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.
