THE VILLAGES — Constance King, 84, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.

Mrs. King was born in Buffalo, NY, and moved to The Villages in 2009 from Rhode Island.

She worked at Curtiss-Wright in Buffalo during World War II, making pistons for airplane engines. She taught early childhood education in Rhode Island and later in life worked in retail for fine jewelry, cosmetics and modeling until she retired. Mrs. King received her navigation certificate at age 70 and piloted the waterways and Atlantic Ocean off Rhode Island. She had a passion for shopping and enjoyed cooking, reading, tole painting and playing cards and bingo.

Survivors include her daughters Carolyn Ziemann and Diane Boeck; her companion, Boyd Biehle; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery in Buffalo with her family. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 26, at St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Cancer Society, Moffitt Cancer Hospital or the American Lung Association.

Arrangements are by Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake.
