HONORABLE CARR, PAUL J. ESQ. 63 - of Manahawkin, passed away on July 27, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Englewood, he lived in Springfield, MA, until moving permanently to Manahawkin in 1976. He was a communicant of St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Brant Beach. Paul earned his JD in 1976 from Western New England School of Law in Springfield, MA. He served his community in many capacities some of which include: Chairman of the Board at Southern Ocean County Hospital (2003 - present) in addition to partnerships with the following law firms: Murray & Carr, LLC (1995 - 1998), Masch, Visotcky, Cerefice, & Carr (1992 - 1995), and Gelzer, Kelaher, Shea, Novy, & Carr (1984 - 1985). He was also awarded the National Award for Po Bono work with The National Center for Missing Children, San Francisco, CA. He currently served as the Planning Board Attorney for Stafford Township as well as a Municipal Judge for the following municipalities: Surf City (1987 - present), Ship Bottom (1999 - present), Plumsted (1997 - present), Stafford (1985 - 2002), Tuckerton (1995 - 2003), Eagleswood (1997 - 2009), Harvey Cedars (1990 - 1992), Lacey (1986 -1988), and South Toms River (1987 - 1988). He presently served as the Board Attorney for Ocean and Atlantic Counties. He also served as an attorney for the following school districts: Bass River (2004 - present), Eagleswood (2001 - present), and Little Egg Harbor (2000 - present). Paul is survived by his wife, Katherine Weltz Carr, son Jonathan (Jennifer) of Little Egg Harbor, his mother Theresa Carr of Orlando, FL; three brothers, Lloyd, John, and James, and three sisters, Mary Wolf, Kathy Carr, and Stacy Carr (Jack Disalvo). A Funeral Mass was offered on Friday July 30, 2010 at St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, Cremation was private. Any donations may be made to the Telemetry Unit at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin (OR) the Congestive Heart Failure Program at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick.
