Roland "Ron" Marples was born in Cambridge,Nebraska in 1928 and died in 2011 in Marysville, Kansas. He was a good man, a good husband, father, grandfather, and cousin. I enjoyed visiting him at his home in Marysville, Kansas, on several occasions.....I was almost sure to see a "University of Kansas Flag" flying near his house. Ron was a well-respected Pharmacist by profession. Fraternally, he was a good Master Mason in his Blue Lodge, a good Christian Mason as a member of his Knight Templar Commandery of the York Rite Masonic orders; and a great Shriner in Arab Shriners Center at Topeka, KS. ---....Ron carried-on the MARPLES family-tradition of belonging to the ancent and honorable fraternal organization of Freemasonry, as do I.

I enjoyed "talking Masonry" with Ron at the MARPLES Family Reunion in Cambridge, Nebraska in the year 2007. My late Dad John William "Bill" Marples Sr 1910-1997 was a Mason for 52 years and a Shriner for almost 50 years....and Ron personally knew my dad's first-cousin Wayne H. Marples 1902-1975 of Blue Springs, Nebraska from Masonic and Shriners' events. Ron also got a chance to meet my 2nd cousin Dean Marples of te neighboring town of Wymore , Nebraska (at the Cambridge Nebr MARPLES-family reunion). Wymore Nebr and Marysville Kansas are just a few miles apart on US-Highway 77...so they each resided "just up-the-road" from each other. Dean Marples is a devoted Mason, Knight Templar and Shriner --too. And Dean's late father : William John "Billy" Marples 1905-2006...lived to be age 101, and he was likewise a Master Mason, Royal Arch Mason, Cryptic Mason, Knight Templar Mason, and Shriner as well. Both Dean & his father earned the prestigious honor of Knights of the York Cross of Honour (KYCH)for presiding in all four York Rite Masonic Bodies.

Ron Marples was well-liked in the Marysville, Kansas area...and he enjoyed spendng time in Florida as well. So, Ron will be missed by MANY PEOPLE in many diverse localities.

Ron was a faithful Christian in Memorial Presbyterian Church at Marysville; and he served with patriotism in the U.S. Army.

Ron: "thank you for your service" to God, Country, family and your fellow-man. You will be missed.

Respectfully submitted.
