Dora Evelyn Hickman Phillips, 86, of Curtis Street, died Friday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Greeneville for 33 years after moving from Harriman, where she was active in Lakeview Baptist Church.

Mrs. Phillips was a charter member of Towering Oaks Baptist Church and the Lena Kate Miller Sunday School Class.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law: John Phillips Jr and his wife, Kathy Phillips, of Mexico, Mo., Joseph and Joann Phillips of Bristol, Paul Phillips of Greeneville, and Joyce Phillips of Spring City; one daughter and son-in-law: Patsy Ruth and Drew Wells of Greeneville; five grandchildren and two special grandchildren-in-law: John Phillips III of Atlanta, Ga., Dwayne and Ruth Wells of Greeneville, Tricia and David Jones of Colorado, Jeremy Phillips of Washington, and Melanie Phillips of Johnson City; one brother: Gene Hickman of Maryland; and one sister: Christine Lett of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and a number of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John Ed Phillips; a son: Jack David Phillips; a grandson: Josh Phillips; her parents: Dennis and Mary Howard Hickman; four brothers; and two sisters.

The family received friends Sunday afternoon from 2-5 at Jeffers Mortuary. Friends may call other times at the home at 118 Curtis St.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in Towering Oaks Baptist Church with interment following in River Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. James Pierce will officiate.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.
