Graveside Services for Irmgard Elfriede Rohrbeck Skinner "Oma" age 81 who died at her residence on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, with her family at her side, will be held Friday at 2:00 from the Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville Chapel. Visitation will be held Thursday 6-8 at the funeral home. She was born to the late Paul and Sophie John Rohrbeck on December 25, 1926, in Halle/Saale, Germany. On May 12, 1947, she married Warren Zimmerman Skinner, Sr. in Esslingen, Germany. They traveled the world for the US Army for 27 years while raising their five children. After his retirement, they settled in Columbia. She retired from Sears after more than 15 years. A gifted crocheter, she spent her retirement exhibiting her handiwork at craft shows, including the Jamil Christmas Craft Show in Columbia. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Warren "Zin". She is also survived by her five children: Walter Rohrbeck and his wife Barbara, of Fullerton, LA; Warren Skinner Jr "Buddy" of Columbia; George Paul Skinner of Bishopville; Jennie Gaskin and her husband George of Pitkin LA; Edith "Hilde" Skinner of Columbia. Also by her six grandchildren: Warren Rohrbeck and his wife Carey of Lake Charles LA ; Amy Rohrbeck Schaffner and her husband John of Roseland LA; Geoffrey Gaskin and his wife Ginger, of Newnan GA; Lauren Gaskin of El Mirage AZ; Caleb Skinner and Silas Skinner, both of Elgin. Also two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Jack Schaffner of Roseland LA. She was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Heinz, and one sister, Hilde.
