Wesley Andrew River 92 of Montgomery City died Thursday November 1,2012 at St Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.

Wesley Andrew River was born November 5, 1919 inTruxton Mo. son of Andrew Adolph River and Amelia Carolina Christina Sievert River. Wesley married Ruby Faye Blackburn on March 29, 1945 in Warrenton Mo. she preceded him in death on September 20, 1982. To this marriage were born Gary Dean River and Carol Sue River Worley. On June 2, 1984 he married Elaine Hall in Montgomery City Mo. Wesley farmed his entire life, was a very hard worker and was very active in the community. Wesley received the Outstanding Innovator Award from the University of Mo. in Columbia for his contribution to thedevelopment and dissemination of agrricultural engineering technology. He was a member o the First United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Montgoery City holding many offices throughout the years. He was a Montgomery County Fair President and enjoyed visiting with family and friends especially at Art's Food Shop in Montgomery City,

Mr River is survived by his wife, Elaine Hall River of Mintgomery City, son Gary River and wife Grace of Montgomery City, daughters, Carol Sue River Worley and husband Gary of Mexico Mo. and Kathy Hall Meyer and husband Kerry of Lees Summit, grandchildren, Gia Eichelberger and husband Jim, Ted Worley and wife Brandy, Jill Buatte and husband Kyle, Andy River and Kista. Kory Callihan and husband Justin. and Katelin Meyer. great grandchildren, Emma and Jay Eichelberger, Gage Worley, Kaden and Kennedy Buatte, Brooke and Taylor River and Evelyn Callihan, also surviving is his brother, Bob River and wife Betty of Montgomery City and numerous nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.

Mr River was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby Faye Blackburn River and one sister,Mildred Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10;30 a.m.Monday November 5, 2012 at the United Metodist Presbyterian Church with Rev Ed Hankinson officiating in Montgomery City. Burial will be in the Montgomery City Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2-5p.m. Sunday at Schlanker Funeral Home Montgomery City. Castlebearers include Andy River, Ted Worley, Jim Echelberger, Kyle Buatte, Bobby River and Gene Whyte.
