The Perry County Times, 31 Mar 1955 (Thurs), page 11
In the passing of Mr. Frank Stokes, of Loysville, March 21, after a long illness, the country side has lost one of its fine citizens. Mr. Stokes came to Loysville from Blain approximately thirty years ago and for 23 years was a supervisor and teacher at Tressler Orphans' Home. After resigning his position at the Home he was employed by H. P. Dyson's Sons Co., at their warehouse in Loysville until his impaired health compelled him to resign. Mr. Stokes was a man of fine Christian character and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was held in high esteem by the boys of the Home who were under his supervision while they were in the Home. Many of the boys who are located in many parts of the U. S. visited him from time to time during his long illness. Funeral services were held for Mr. Stokes at the Nickle Funeral Home, Loysville, on March 24, at 2 p. m. The services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Vernon I. Naugle, and assisted by Dr. G. R. Heim, of Reading, who was superintendent of the Home while Mr. Stokes was a supervisor and also a very close friend of the Stoke family. Interment was made at Blain. The beautiful floral gifts and the many who attended the viewing and funeral was another evidence of the many friends that he had. Mr. Stokes is survived by his wife, two sons, Harold, of Louisville, Ky., and Ernest, of York; one brother, William, of York; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Rhinesmith, of Ridgeway; Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, Mrs. Madge Stein and Mrs. Martha Hench, all of Harrisburg; also eight grandchildren.

PA Death Certificate: son of David & Phoebe Morrow Stokes; married (wife's name not listed); retired school teacher; died in Tyrone Township (rural Loysville) due to multiple myeloma
