OBITUARY: Taylor County Star, January 28, 1937
Mrs. Jeanette Parrott Pike died at her home near Bengal Tuesday, January 26, at the age of twenty-eight years. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Early Chapel Methodist Church. She was married twice, the first time to William Karnes. To this union one son was born, Thomas Karnes, of Louisville. In 1932 she was married to Omar Pike. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Nellie Jean and Carrolton; her mother; four brothers, Henry, Harry, Harvey and William Parrott; five sisters, Mrs. Willie Bridges, Mrs. Fannie Curry, Mrs. Mina Love, Mrs. Ella Pike and Mrs. Nellie Martin; two half-brothers, James and Will Parrott; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Maggie Bowen and Mrs. John Willock. Funeral services were conducted January 27 at Early Chapel Methodist Church by the pastor, Rev. Frank Hulse, followed with interment in the Bethel Cemetery. The pallbearers were Joe Walters, Les Phillips, Forest Bland, George Richard Phillips, Robert Stiles, and Wilbur Gilpin.
