Freda Odean (Richmond) Harris, 86, of Benton, passed away October 25, 2012. She was born July 3rd, 1926, to the late John and Lydia (Brummett) Richmond. She was a member of Sharon M.B. Church and the Kate Wright Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, one sister and four brothers, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Horace Wilton Harris, her son, Flynn Harris, and grandson, Patrick Bean. Ms. Harris was an avid lover of nature and enjoyed working with flowers, gardening and bird watching. She spent her life being the best wife, mother and Nanny that any family could be blessed to have. Her family and faith was her life, the cooking, nurturing and providing of love and encouragement to them and everyone who came into her home was a gift she easily shared and will be remembered for. The family will receive friends at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Sunday 2-4 p.m. Funeral will be Monday 10 a.m. at Ashby's with burial at Pipkin Cemetery. Bro. Muncy Harris will be officiating.
