Son of Henry Kroh and Barbara Reichart. In 1820 he married Anna Maria Stouch of Womelsdorf, PA. They would ultimately have 10 children. He was ordained into the German Reformed Church in 1824. He served congregations in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Ohio. One of the congregations in which he served was the First Reformed Church in Lebanon, PA. The church is known today as Tabor United Church of Christ. Rev. Kroh served Tabor from June 1828 to May 1835. In 1849 he moved with his family to California hoping to establish the Reformed Church there. In this he failed but he preached for a number of years throughout the mining districts.
