Another loss to the Las Vegas music community, with the sudden passing of drummer Mark Stockton Adams last Friday. Mark had a very impressive musical history in this city. Starting in the ‘80s, he played with the city's top bands and performers, including the late Sidro's Armada, Tex Richardson, Freddie Bell, Lola Falana, Jeneane Marie, Denise Clemente, Bill DeLoach, Sonny Turner, Wayne Newton, Loretta Holloway, Engelbert Humperdinck, Kristine and The Sting, Anita Sarawak, Tony Tillman, Darcus Speed, Lena Prima and David Van Such. Although this may have been done before, we are not aware of the Fremont Street Experience canopy ever honoring the memory of a local musician with an electrical overhead display. It was done this week to pay homage to Mark Adams, which speaks volumes regarding his fine reputation in this city. Mark was not just a fine musician, he was a fine human being.
