Robert James Boyd, 73, retired farmer, died at Monmouth hospital Sunday at 5:50 p.m. after being a patient there several days. He had been a director of the First State Bank at Biggsville since its organization in 1927 and was vice president of the bank at the time of his death. Son of John and Elizabeth Stevenson Boyd, he was born in Henderson County, Oct. 14, 1872. He had always made his home on a farm south of Biggsville. Boyd had never married. He leaves four sisters, Elizabeth and Ella, at home; Mrs. Mary Thomas and Mrs. Kathryn Tadlock, both of Burlington; and one brother, John Boyd of Biggsville. Services will be held at the local United Presbyterian church Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the pastor, Rev. Charles G. Mann, in charge. Burial will be in the Biggsville cemetery. The body is at the Mudd funeral home.
