Lee Green Tomlinson was born December 1, 1920 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Leonard & Emma Green.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord & Savior at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Pelham. Later, she joined Greater Union First Baptist Church. She served faithfully until her health began to fail. She graduated from Bronson High School, May 12, 1938 and attended Bethune-Cookman College. She taught school briefly in Alachua County. After returning to DeLand, she worked various jobs in the school system.
She was married to the late William N. Tomlinson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Ophelia Tomlinson; brother: Leonard Green.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter: Olivia (Leroy) Cherry; stepson: William Tomlinson (Shirley); grandsons: Dahryll (Evelyn) Brown, Courtney (Arlevia) Cherry and Bill Lemar Cherry; great-grandchildren: Justin, Jason, Jerrick, Joey, Shawn, Tyler, Taylor, Quanterius, Javonte, Blake, Shamont & Lamont and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She considered Vickie Heath (Leroy) as her adopted daughter and a devoted friend: Joyce Matthews; extended family, McKenzie & Xavier, Jordan & Arerell; sister-in-law: Donella Tomlinson Curry, St. Paul, NC.
Her life will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Greater Union First Baptist Church, 240 South Clara Avenue, DeLand, Pastor Troy A. Bradley Sr., officiating. Visitation will be today (Saturday) from 6:30 pm - 8:30 p. m. at J. E. Cusack Mortuary. Interment will take place privately Monday, November 5th at Union Cemetery.
