George Tearney Rites Saturday

George Tearney, 74, a retired farmer, died at his home today on RR 2 Easton, following an extended illness. He was born June 22, 1890, in Leavenworth County, a son of Charles and Susie Tearney.

Mr. Tearney had been a life time farmer and resident of Leavenworth County and was never married. He was a member of the St. Joseph of the Valley Church.

Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Katie Robertson, Valley Falls; Mrs. Grace Kern, 18th and Spruce; Mrs. Mary Heintzelman, Atchison, and Miss Nellie Tearney, RR 2 Easton.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph of the Valley Church with the Rev. George Bertels, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Members of the St. Joseph of the Valley Altar Society and friends will recite the Rosary on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Sumpter Funeral Chapel.
