Mr. Baker was born Aug. 31, 1931 in Grand Valley to the late Lawrence B. and Margaret Loomis Baker. He married Beverly J. Montgomery on Feb 21, 1951 in Tidioute.
He attended school in Grand Valley. Mr. Baker was employed for many years as a truck driver and school bus driver for Weldon and Sons in Pittsfield.
He attended Grand Valley United Methodist Church. Mr. Baker was also a member of the Grand Valley Vounteer Fire Dept.
Mr. Baker loved being surrounded by his family and friends and attending reunions. He was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Baker of Grand Valley, four children, Byron F. Baker Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Wattsburg, twin daughters Pauline Craker and her husband Paul of Spartansburg and Darlene Perry and her husband WIlliam Sr. of Enterprise, Arthur J. Baker and his wife Barbara of Grand Valley, nine grandchildren, William Perry Jr. of Enterprise, Bradley Baker and Jeffrey Baker of Wattsburg, Brian Craker of Spartansburg, Ashley Smith, Tera Baker and Tyler Baker of Grand Valley, Rob Baker and Rachel Johnson of Warren, two great-grandchildren, David Perry of Enterprise, and Riley Johnson of Warren, five sisters, Caroline Bower of Youngsville, Joyce Wright, Evelyn Brown and Elaine Osborne of Grand Valley and Margaret Stec of Garland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey C. Baker; three brothers, Ronald Baker, Richard Baker and Sheldon Baker, and four sisters, Dorothy Seber, Madeline Jackson, Maxine Baker and Lenore Tydus.
