Mrs. Charles E. Brookhart, Step-Mother of Ogle Brookhart of Novelty, Dead

Mrs. Charles E. Brookhart of Gibbs, step-mother of Ogle Brookhart of near Novelty, died on her eighty-fourth birthday at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, August 14, 1959. Death came at the Prairie View Rest Home in Lewistown, where she had been a patient since March 10, 1959.

The body was brought to Edina to the Hudson Funeral Home, where services at the chapel were at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Don Cole. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery, where was buried Mr. Brookhart, who died Oct. 19, 1954.

Two step-sons, besides the Mr. Brookhart mentioned, survive, William Brookhart and Charles Brookhart of Keokuk, Iowa, also a grandson, Harold E. Keith, of Colorado and several step-grandsons. Mr[s]. Brookhart leaves two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Frank Kelley, of Mediapolis, Iowa, Mrs. Luella Davis of Kansas City, Mo., and William Gobbin of Middletown, Iowa.

Mrs. Brookhart was a daughter of the late John W. and Prudence Gobbin and she was born Aug. 14, 1875, at Winchester, Iowa. As Miss Margaret Anna Gobbin, she was married Oct. 25, 1894, to Marion Keith, who died April 24, 1926. Mr. and Mrs. Keith were the parents of five daughters and a son: Elsie, Ada, Mollie, Alta Mae and Georgia Pearl and Johnny, all of whom preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Keith was married Dec. 24, 1929, to Charles Edward Brookhart and besides her two husbands and six children Mrs. Brookhart was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
