Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to his family for a fund to be established.
Ralph was born on December 9, 1936, in Moline, the son of Les and Doris (Jones) Leisure. He married Carolyn on April 8, 1967, in Colona. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2007. For 35 years he worked for John Deere Foundry as a Sand Slinger Operator, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of East Moline and UAW Local 81. Ralph coached the Coal Valley Dad's Club as well as all three of his daughters in softball. He was an avid Cardinals fan and enjoyed fishing and watching Friday night WWE.
Survivors include his children, Mark (Sheri) Leisure, Ankeny, Iowa, Trish (Tom) Burgeson, Cambridge, Ill., Dale (Kay) Leisure West, Alexander, Pa., Sylvia (Rick) Nimrick, Port Byron, Sandi (Brian) Maraden, East Moline, and Christine (Danny) Carroll, Decatur, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, daughter, Rae Ann Berberich, and grandson.
