DANVERS - Caroline M. Schertz, 93, a lifelong Danvers resident, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Mennonite Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Danvers Presbyterian Church, the David Crittenden officiating. Burial will be In Park Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Otto & Argo Funeral Home, Danvers.

She was born Nov. 9, 1886, in Dry Grove Township, a daughter of Samuel A. and. Mary Ellen Harris Deal. She married Ransom L. Schertz Nov. 8, 1911. He died Oct. 4, 1951.

Surviving are a son, Marion Schertz, Danvers; four daughters, Mary Ellen Morse, Odell; Ada Louise Birckelbaw, Acradia; Fla, Alice M. Strubhar, McLean, and Carolyn Kaufman, Danvers; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Three great-grandchildren, a son; three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

She was a third generation of the Deal family to settle in Dry Grove Township.

She was a member of Danvers Presbyterian Church and the church circle.

Memorials may be made to the church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
