He was born in Marblehead, son of the late Waldo C. and Evelyn R. (Homan) Gage. He graduated from Marblehead High School and Curry College, where he received a degree in English oratory.
He was a scientific glass blower with Duracell Labs in Needham until he retired in 1986. He lived in Florida for the past 11 years.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Jeffrey Gage of North Andover and David Gage of Sharon; two sisters, Marjorie Young of Marblehead and Dorothy Cornwell of California, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm St., Marblehead, followed by burial in Waterside Cemetery.
