Mr. Robin Eugene Harris, age 67, Rome, passed away Friday morning, October 26, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mr. Harris was born in Floyd County on August 3, 1945, son of the late W. R. Chambers, Sr. and the late Frances Thompson Chambers. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William R. "Sonny" Chambers, Jr. Mr. Harris was a 1964 graduate of Pepperell High School in Lindale and served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves. Prior to his becoming disabled, he was employed for several years with Syntec Industries here in Rome. He attended the Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Durden Harris, Rome; 3 daughters, Mrs. Tammy Payne, and her husband, Jimmy, Cedar Bluff, AL, Ms. Diane Durham, Silver Creek, and Ms. Lisa Croy, Rome; a son, George Harris, Rome; 3 sisters, Mrs. Crissie Coker, and her husband, Larry, Ringgold, Mrs. Linda Chandler, and her husband, J. T., Lindale, and Ms. Cecelia Chambers, Lindale; 3 grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at 3pm at the graveside in Floyd Memory Gardens. Dr. Philip May will officiate.
