CHILD DROWNED
Henry, the little four-year-old son of Mr and Mrs W S Dean, was drowned at Dundee, last Friday.
Mr Dean is of the firm of Renfrow and Dean, proprietors of the Dundee Flouring Mills. Mr Dean's residence is only a short distance from the mill and at noon Mrs Dean sent the little boy to the mill to tell his papa to come to dinner and when, a half hour later, Mr Dean came to the house without having seen the little fellow, they became anxious about him and began a search for him, and when they failed to find him elsewhere, the water was let out of the fore-bay and those present were horrified to find the lifeless body of the child at the bottom of it. Willing hands soon lifted the little boy from the watery tomb and every effort was made to restore life, but it was too late. Rev Ratcliff conducted the funeral services, after which the little body was laid to rest in the Fitzhugh cemetery at Sulphur Springs.
