Naoma Pratt Morris, 82, Newnan, died Nov. 28, 2001. She was born Feb. 21, 1919 in Maryville, Tenn., the daughter of the late Jasper and Laura Grizzle Pratt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard B. Morris. A former resident of Atlanta, she lived in Lone Oak and Hogansville from 1973 until making her home in Newnan two months ago. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Primrose.
During World War II, she was employed by the Bell Bomber Plant and received a presidential commendation for being the right-wing riveter in the assembly of the B-29 aircraft, the Enola Gay.
Services were at the Faith Baptist Church, in the Primrose Community of Meriwether County with the Rev. Billy Ball officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.
Survivors include sons Rickie B. Morris, Newnan, Michael A. Morris, Hogansville, and David H. Morris, Victoria, Va.; daughters Melody Morris, Newnan, Deloriouse Wade, LaGrange, Linda Hewatt, Alpharetta, and Ruthie Patton, Covington; brothers Robert L. Pratt, Cleveland, Tenn., John Wilbur Pratt, Baton Rouge, La., and James L. Pratt, Denham, La.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, Hogansville, was in charge.
