Dawn Marie Rubio, 29, of Fort Myers, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2005 at home. She was born in Fort Myers September 12, 1975 and has been a lifelong resident. She graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1994 and was a member of the Color Guard while there. She received her nail tech certification from Lee VoTech.
Dawn is survived by her son: Carl Lee Shackleford, Jr.; parents: Roger and Pam Rubio of Fort Myers; fiance‚ Carl Shackleford, Sr.; a sister: Crystal Joy Rubio (FMHS 1995) Mansell (Jeff) of Fort Myers; two brothers: Roger Rubio, Jr. (Phyllis) of Burlington, NJ and Eric Rubio (FMHS 2002) (Bekah) of Lehigh Acres; maternal grandparents: Etta Mae Mariotti and David Maikranz; paternal grandmother: Guadalupe Matias; a niece: Bethanie Machel Rubio, a nephew: Brandson Mansell and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother: Pearl Gould and her paternal grandfather: Francisco Rubio, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers with Pastor Phil Romanow officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
