Sulphur- Jerry Lyons, 58, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was born on December 22, 1953 in Sulphur, where he remained a lifelong resident. Jerry worked as a Tug Boat Pilot for many years, retiring from Conoco after 30 years of service, and also worked for Canal Barge Co. He was a member of Maplewood United Methodist Church and he enjoyed riding all of his Harleys.

Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Manuel and Alician Reed, both of Vidor, Texas; two sisters, Rhonda L. Stokes and Bonnie L. Guillory, both of Sulphur; one brother, Roddy G. Lyons of Lake Charles; and four grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roddy and Wanda Lyons; and his brother, Barry Lyons.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3, in Maplewood United Methodist Church. The Rev. Rhonda Feurtado will officiate. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Friday in the church and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the church. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
