GREENWOOD REMEMBERS
Eliza Stark Boggess, born in Missouri 1/21/1820 – 3/17/1901

Eliza's parents were Judge James Hart Stark and Jane Watts Stark who were from Bourbon County Kentucky, and they were the parents of 13 children.

Almost all of the Stark family were buried at the Stark Cemetery, except for two children at Windsor, one at Buffalo, one at Antioch in Cyrene, and Eliza at Greenwood.

She married Bosman Boggess on September 23, 1841, and I could not find any children born to this union. Bosman was a farmer and they left Pike County and moved to Audrain County in 1857. He died in 1884 and was brought back for burial in the Dover cemetery.

Eliza lived out her remaining years as a widow, moved to Clarksville and lived in Ward 2. The 1900 census showed her at age 81 having two boarders, Edna Bowles and Lora Law. She was partially paralyzed for several years before her death in 1901.

We might never know why she was not buried alongside her husband at Dover or near many family members at Stark Cemetery.
