Justin Mitchell Austin, 18, of Caldwell died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at a Boise hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 14, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Justin was born at home in Marsing on April 10, 1984, to David and Lisa Perry Austin. He was raised in the Caldwell area, attending Caldwell schools.
Justin was an outstanding wrestling athlete. He was a state champion and a regional champion. This year he won the Sparks Nevada Invitational Gold Belt Buckle trophy. This is an award that all boys who wrestle strive for. Justin won first place in bull riding at the Homedale Rodeo. He also loved water sports. Justin loved showing off his perfectly built body and showing his "six-pack abs." He tanned easily with blonde hair and had beautiful white teeth for his big hearted smile. Justin was a friendly kid. He would shovel the snow out of your driveway. He world stop and help women change their tire or help push their car out of the street. Justin had three jobs over the last three summers. He worked for Oregon Underground with his uncle, Tom Rasch, and learned to run a back-hoe and drive a dump truck. He worked for JB Construction with his uncle, Mike Austin, and they were happy with his work. Justin would lift the heavy boards so he could work-out certain muscle groups for his workout.
Justin had a lot of friends. He made friends from every state he wrestled in. He was honest and trustworthy. Parents allowed Justin to drive their cars.
Justin was on his way to Jackson Hole, Wyo., to start a job as a plumber apprentice. The was a four-year program and Justin was excited about starting his future with his uncle, Brent Price. He wanted to get away from the Caldwell area. Justin will be remembered for his smile. For the over abundance of love that he shared. His kindness, thoughtfulness and politeness will be remembered by us all.
Justin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tommy Floyd Austin; his grandmother, Elenor Geneva Perry; and two sets of great-grandparents. He leaves behind his mother, Lisa Austin of Caldwell; his brother, Kevin Austin of Caldwell; his dad, David Austin of South Carolina; his sister, Tanya Austin of Moses Lake, WA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made in Justin's name at any Wells Fargo Bank to help the family with final expenses.
