Attorney General Mac Q. Williamson was born in Nebraska and came with his family to Oklahoma City in 1905 and ultimately settled in Pauls Valley in 1906. He was a member of the first law class at the University of Oklahoma and was admitted to the bar in 1913. He was elected Pauls Valley City Attorney in 1914 and then elected Garvin County Attorney in 1920 and 1922 and served in the State Senate from 1925 to 1932, where he also served as President Pro Tempore in 1928. In 1934, he was elected Attorney General of Oklahoma and was elected seven more times to the post until his retirement in 1963.
