Born July 31, 1888, in Howard County, she was the daughter of Charlie T. and Cynthia Spotts Swetnam. She was married Oct. 10, 1906, to Elmer Yancey, who died Dec. 10, 1969. She was a member of the Armstrong United Methodist Church, and had lived in Howard County all her life.
Surviving are three sons, Forest, Fayette; Norburn, Mexico, and Wilson, Independence; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two brothers, David B., Kansas City; and Lloyd T., Houston, Tex. She was preceded in death by one daughter, four grandchildren and three sisters.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church at Fayette, with the Rev. Glenn Miller, pastor officiating and burial at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday night at the Markland Funeral Chapel here.
