Death claimed George Wallace Thompson, 78, widely known resident of the Quincy community, Tuesday afternoon, passing away in Sidney at the home of his grandson Wallace Wright, on Clay Street. General debility resulted in his passing. He had been in ill health for a long time. For the past few years he had been making his home with his children and grandchildren. The deceased was born on July 17, 1858, in Perry Township, and spent the greater part of his life there. He was married twice, his first marriage was with the late Amanda Bollinger which took place in 1881. His second marriage was in 1905 to the late Susan Herndon. Both have preceded him in death. He is survived by three daughters and one son, who are: Mrs. H. M. Wright, of Anderson, Ind., Mrs. J. F. Lusk, Findlay, Mrs. Glen Smith, Fostoria, and Wallace Thompson, Quincy. One daughter, Cora, died in infancy. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive with three brothers and five sisters. Fraternally he was a member of the Eagles lodge and church affiliation was with the Church of Christ at Port Jefferson. Funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist Church at Pasco and will be in charge of Rev. N. B. Martin of the Sidney Church of Christ. Friends may call at the Wallace Wright home on Clay Street at any time until the time of the funeral when the remains will be removed to the Pasco Church. Burial will be at Cedar Point.
