She was a wonderful woman - loved her family and cared for them with strength and integrity during the Depression. In her later years, she moved with my Grandfather to Saugany Lake near LaPorte. They loved their little house and being in the country. After my Grandfather died in 1957, she continued to live there and enjoy the company of her family on their summer vacations. She was a "shark" at Canasta, was a wonderful cook and a good friend. She loved her little dog, Mitzi Girl, and was inseparable from the dog in her last years. Dementia took its toll on this beautiful woman but I will always cherish my memories of days spent with her. Esther had 11 grandchildren(Donna, Jimmy, George, Bill, Barbara, Karen, Bill, Susan, Nancy, Bobby, and Nancy) and 10 great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
