Charlotte Cushman, age 88, was called home by her Lord on February 19, 2011, following a brief illness. Charlotte was born in El Paso, Texas, and was raised there with her family, was united in marriage to Allan R. Cushman on December 21, 1947. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur R. Andresen and Delka P. (Mueller) Andresen, and also a younger sister, Winifred Werner. Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Allan R. Cushman of Las Vegas, NM, daughter, Deborah Erickson and her husband, Erik of Las Vegas, NM; son, Timothy A. Cushman and his wife, Janie of Sandia Park, NM, sister, Pauline Sobral of Farmington, NM, brother, Frederick Andresen of Corona Del Mar, California. Charlotte has nine grandchildren: John Erickson of Fairfax, Minnesota, Janet Posey and her husband Cody of DeRidder, Louisiana, Karl Erickson and Jacob Erickson of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Ryan Cushman and his wife, Emily of Tucson, Arizona, Daniel Cushman of Ventura, California, Chearsten Webb and her husband David of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cassie Andersen and her husband, Mark of Albuquerque, New Mexico, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charlotte loved all her family very much, devoted her life too caring for her children, and helping others. Charlotte was a very generous, kind person. She loved dogs, still has two dogs living at home. Charlotte had many friends, she loved doing crafts and art. Charlotte found the art of ceramics very exciting, and pursued learning the craft from a very dear friend. Her family is surrounded by the pieces of ceramic that she made. Charlotte was very fond of music, she played the accordion and organ for many years. One of her hobbies was writing letters, she had pen pals from around the world. She enjoyed having students from the United World College visit her home, and still maintained friendships with several of these students. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rogers Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Peace Church, Las Vegas, New Mexico.
