William McCue, 52, was the son of Felix and
Bridget (Fitzsimmons) McCue.
Enlisted in Company C, Vermont 4th Infantry Regiment on 09 Mar 1865.
Mustered out on 13 Jul 1865.
"William McCue died at his old home in town (Windsor, Vermont) Tuesday, after a protracted illness (Consumption) from disease contracted while in the army. He had been in the Massachusetts General hospital for a long time, and returned to Windsor about two weeks ago. He was a member of Co. C, 4th Vt. Vols., in the late war, and had a good record as a soldier, He was single, 53 years of age, and is survived by a number of brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Thursday morning, with burial in St. Francis' Catholic Cemetery."
