Harry Edward Wallace (Bud) Forge, 94, passed away May 3, 2012, at home with loved ones by his side. Bud was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Forest, Idaho, to Harold Wallace Forge and Ada Mae Hosley Forge. His family moved to Clarkston, where Bud attended school and graduated as senior class president of Clarkston High School in 1935.

Bud worked in the local Potlatch Forest Mill, and then he owned a small body shop until he entered the U.S. Navy on March 15, 1943. He served as a Machinist Mate on PT Boat 130 in the South Pacific. He received two Asiatic Pacific Ribbions and the Bronze Star Medal. After his military service, Bud was in hotel management in Lewiston and in Yakima until 1974. He then worked at Davis High School until his retirement at the age of 72.

The word "stranger" did not exist for Bud - he liked everyone, and all those who were lucky enough to have met him know this. He loved to tell jokes. Being with his family and siblings playing games like cribbage, dice and dominoes were what he considered the best of times, along with fishing and golf. Followed closely to his love of family was his love of animals. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lewiston.

Bud is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally Forge of Yakima, a brother, Walt Forge of Lewiston, a sister Genevieve McLeod of Eugene, Ore., seven children: Carol Lynn Hattrup of Pasco, Shelley Antos fo Gig Harbor, Wash., Mike Schrantz of Vancouver, Wash., Chuck Forge of Seattle, Cindy Botkin of Palm Springs, Calif., Jennifer Griffin of Yakima, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the home of Bud's daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Royce Griffin.
