Motion Picture Producer, Director. Best known as "Jungle Sam," and for a long string of ultra-cheapie films at ‘Columbia’ in the 1950's. He started out working in western, crime melodramas and several serials. In 1940 he created the “East Side Kids” and one year later signed Bela Lugosi for a lucrative series of horror pictures. In the 1960s he produced Elvis Presley musicals for MGM.
