Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 15, at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church for Rachel Glee Groves, 84. Rev. Darrel Griffin officiated.

Mrs. Veronica Lary accompanied Mrs. Barbara Wollenhaupt as she sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art," Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Acker and Mr. and Mrs. Verner Walters were in charge of flowers.

Casket bearers were Richard Groves, Robert Dale Groves, Larry Pace, David Pace, Jim Groves, and Phil Groves. Interment was in the Massena Center Cemetery. Massena Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Groves, daughter of Furnes and Marretta Brown, was born September 21, 1891, at Cumberland, and passed away Wednesday, May 12, at the Heritage House in Atlantic, where she had been a resident since February. She graduated from Cumberland High School. She was united in marriage to Fred J. Groves, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Robert of Massena and Clair of Manchester; a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Pace of Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Esta Brown.
