Marjorie Marie Berggren, 85, Russell, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at St. John's Nursing Center, Victoria.

She was born July 14, 1922, in Alma, Neb. to Charlie and Charlena (Hageman) Davis. She attended the Alma Public School system.

She married Roland Stanley Berggren on Feb. 12, 1938, in Norton. He preceded her in death. She was a sales representative for Avon for 27 years.

Survivors include a son, Val John Berggren, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a daughter, Sharon Lee Cochrun, Bartlesville, Okla.; four brothers, Charles Dale Davis, Lincoln, Neb., Gaylord Davis, Clermont, Fla., Dean Davis, Emporia, and Authur Davis, Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Cleora McPherson, Clermont, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roland Gary.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell; burial at 2 p.m. in Alma Cemetery, Alma, Neb.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Russell Senior Center in care of the mortuary.

Marjorie was born July 14, 1922 in Alma, Nebraska, the daughter of Charlie and Charlena (Hageman) Davis. She spent her entire childhood in Alma and attended the Alma Public School system. She was united in marriage to Roland Stanley Berggren on February 12, 1938 in Norton, Kansas. From this union Marjorie and Roland were blessed with three children Roland, Val and Sharon. Marjorie's full time love was being a sales representative for Avon Cosmetics. Selling Avon was a 27 year passion for Marjorie and it was her passion that led her to win all available Avon sales Awards.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Russell, the V.F.W. Axillary, Elks Lodge, Russell Senior Center and the Susan G. Konen Breast Cancer Organization. She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, baking, cooking and being active in the Russell Senior Center and First Baptist Women's groups.

Surviving family include her daughter Sharon Lee Cochrun of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; son Val John Berggren and wife Gail from Lake Havasu City, Arizona; four brothers Charles Dale Davis and wife Ethel from Lincoln, Nebraska, Gaylord Davis of Clermont, Florida, Dean Davis from Emporia, Kansas, Arthur Davis and wife Dorothy of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister Cleora McPherson and husband Mickey of Clermont, Florida; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death are her parents, husband Roland; one son Roland Gary; and one sister Daveda Austin.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. Interment will follow the services at 2:00 p.m. in the Alma Cemetery in Alma, Nebraska. Public visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29 at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. A memorial has been established with the Russell Senior Center. Contributions and condolences may be left with Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. Condolences may be emailed to pvpmortuary@eaglecom.net.
