Mrs. Unie Veatress Marley, 86, of Memphis and formerly of Steele, died June 22, 1991 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Born March 12, 1905, she was the daughter of the late W.H. and Addie Cowell King. She was a member of the Nunnery Baptist Church in Denton.

She is survived by four sons, A. J. Marley of Clinton, Miss., and James, Lawrence and Ronald Marley, all of Memphis; eight daughters, Mrs. Onita Sipes of Granite City, Ill., Mrs. Zulla Rash of Arlington, Tenn., Mrs. Louise Pilkinton of Winter Park, Fla., Mrs. Mary Helen Jernigan of Eads, Tenn and Mrs. Wanda Snyder, Mrs. Marie Rhea, Mrs. Della Pearson and Mrs. Beulah Massey, all of Memphis; one sister, Mrs. Lexie Rhea of Memphis; 40 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Algie Marley.

Services were June 25 at 2 p.m. at Nunnery Baptist Church in Denton, the Rev. Dale Money officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Southern, Wayne Southern, and Gordon Southern.
