Graham Charles Wallis, son of Joan and Alan, was born in England on July 12, 1954 and died suddenly on June 21, 2012 of coronary artery disease. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Lois, his beautiful daughter Sophie, his mother Joan and his siblings Andy, Kevin and Joanne.

Graham was educated at Oxford Polytechnic, receiving a BA in business studies, and then enjoyed a successful career as a sales and management executive working with several UK software companies.

Lois and Graham met in London, England in 1993. They travelled and enjoyed the good life. When they left England for the Sunshine Coast, they spent five months travelling through Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Bali and Hawaii.
Shortly after arriving in Vancouver in 1999, Graham designed and built their dream craftsman style home (Somerset House) on Ocean Beach Esplanade overlooking the Strait of Georgia. From the moment you stepped on the property, everyone noticed his English touches, some of which were the stunning gardens, the stained glass throughout and the exceptionally welcoming entryway.

In 2002, Lois and Graham welcomed their daughter Sophie into the world. Now at age 10 and entering into Grade 5 in the fall, Sophie enjoys her involvement in acro and contemporary dance classes, piano, art, swimming and her never-ending devotion to younger children. Sophie has surrounded herself with a large and diverse group of friends from school and her community.

Graham was a devoted father and a high-standing member of his community. He was a special man with so much character and so engaging to everyone he met. He had an amazing sense of humour and an incredible degree of kindness and warmth. He had a big personality and an even bigger heart.

Graham made life-long friendships and saw no difference between king or commoner. For a man of his stature, he carried himself with a gentle charm and friendly smile. He had a sophisticated palate for exquisite red wines and fine foods. He enjoyed his Monday night squash with his friends and his daily jaunts to the school where he would enjoy conversations when dropping off and picking up Sophie and her many friends.

Graham spent the last seven years running his garden/landscaping business where he truly loved the gardens he worked in. He enjoyed his time in all gardens, where his knowledge and attention to detail ensured that every garden he worked in became a piece of art he could be proud of. His trademark moustache was the envy of his football, rugby and squash mates.

Please join his family and friends in celebration of Graham's life on Thursday, July 26, at 1pm at Rosewood Country House, 575 Pine Street, Roberts Creek.
