Pauline "Polly" Curtis, 97, a resident of Aledo, Illinois formerly of New Boston, Illinois died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Boston Fire Department or to the New Boston Methodist Church.

Polly was born February 22, 1915 in Bettendorf the daughter of Fred and Zedenka (Zathova) Nemluvil. She was united in marriage to Floyd Curtis in Princeton, Illinois in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1978.

Polly and Floyd owned and operated the Curtis grocery and dry goods store in New Boston for many years.

She enjoyed working with her flowers, playing cards, bingo and volunteering at the fire department and her church.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter Debra Curtis, Galesburg, Illinois; her son, Harley (Jan) Curtis, New Boston and her sisters, Edith Wilmes, Bettendorf, Helen Johanssen, Moscow, Iowa and Kathryn Brown, Durant, Iowa.

In addition to her husband Floyd, she was preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter, Audrey Curtis; her sisters, Rose Higley and Ann Peeters and her brothers, Stanley and Fritz Nemluvil.
