In the 1920 U.S. Census, Thomas Blaney, 42, born Maine, parents born Maine, was living in Washington County, Maine, with widower Thomas, 81, born Maine, parents born Ireland; and Harold T. Carter, 14, born Maine, parents born Maine.

In the 1910 U.S. Census, Thomas Blaney, 71, born Canada, parents born Ireland, was living in Alexander, Maine, with Sarah A., 65, born Maine, parents born Canada; and Thomas, 34, born Maine.

In the 1900 U.S. Census, farmer Thomas Blaney, 62, born Aril 1838 in N.B., parents born Ireland, was living in Alexander, Maine, with Sarah, 54, born August 1845 in Maine, parents born Ireland; and farm laborer Thomas, 24, born March 1876 in Maine.
They had been married for 32 years and six of their eight children were living
Thomas came to the U.S. in 1851

In the 1880 U.S. Census, farmer Thomas Blaney, 41, born Canada, parents born Ireland, was living in Alexander, Maine, with Sarah A., 33, born Maine, parents born Ireland; laborer William, 19; Annie, 9; Mary E., 8; John J., 6; Thomas, 4; and Sarah, 1, all born in Maine.

In the 1870 U.S. Census, farmer Thomas Blaney, 30, born N.B., was living in Baileyville, Maine, with Sarah, 26; and William, 9, both born in Maine; Anastasia Robb, 48, born Ireland; and John Robb, 29, born Maine.

Probably the first to build at this site was old Thomas Blaney. Tom and his first wife Sarah had one child, William. Sarah died 17 months later (childbirth?) and Tom married Sarah (Robb). They were parents of six children. In 1885 Tom deeded the south part of the lot to John Irwin. Jasper Bailey held the mortgage. Irwin and his family were here for just a few years. It was likely in 1885 that Tom and Sarah moved to lot 46 on the South Princeton Road, a farm their son Tom, a bachelor, had acquired several years earlier. Old Tom lived to celebrate his ninetieth birthday at his son John's home in Milltown on April 17, 1928. (104 Pokey Road, Alexander)

In the 1860 U.S. Census, James Blaney, 50, born Ireland, was living in Alexander, Maine, with Elizabeth, 48, born Ireland; Thomas, 22; and Sarah, 21, both born in Maine.

Thomas married Sarah Adelin Lyons in 1860. They had one child, William, before she died on September 8, 1862 in Alexander, age 23.
