Allie Scott Guest was born in Clarendon, Texas, April 4th, 1924 and came to California with her family in 1936. she attended Salinas Schools and in 1940 married Murdic Guest.

In the presence of her three daughters, Allie peacefully left our world on January 23rd.

Her daughters are Altena (Neal) Svendsen of Arizona, Ival Grazzinni (Frank) of Arkansas and Rejeanna (Mike) Mason of Idaho. There are seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A nephew, Bob Lawson, resides in Carmel.

Mrs. Guest worked for many years for Sears and earlier for packing companies Peter A Stolich (Pasco) and Speigle Company. With her husband and others they started the Hoot n Anny, an annual musical and social campout at the Atkinson Estate in Morgan Hill. Now known as the Bob Oberg Memorial, this year's event will be the 48th year and has in the past featured performers Jerome Murphy, Fiddling Fred, Big Jim De Noon, Dennis Murphy, Doña Deak and Jay Meiselman.

A skilled pilot, Mrs. Guest and her husband owned several airplanes while living in Salinas and were members of the Salinas Owners and Pilots association. She was a founding member of the Santa Clara Valley Chapter "99.s", the women's aviators group started by Amelia Earhart and 98 women aviators.

Thursday Morning Service will be at Sunset Vista Mortuary, Yuma with burial, next to her beloved Murdic, at Weldon, AZ. Cemetery. Published in The Monterey Herald on January 25, 2006
