A search of Jefferson county, Iowa death record transcriptions provided the information that the father was listed as "August Johnson", but the name of the mother was not listed. Whether or not they are buried in Jefferson county and have, or need to have, F/A/G memorials is somewhat uncertain - research should be done before make such entries and relationship links as there are several Swedish/Lutheran families that might fit the criteria but may or may not actually related/correct.

The death record transcription listed the DOD as Dec. 3, 1931; not known if that was a clerical error or what, as first obituary notice as published seems clear that Emma died on Dec. 5, 1931. The death record transcription also entered the DOB as April 22, 1855, so whomever provided that source information may or may not have had accurate information at hand. Family researchers should use these DOB/DOD dates with caution.

The middle name as used on this memorial is "Christine", but it should be noted that her obituary listed it as "Christina". Again, sources can vary with phonetic spellings.

Obituary transcriptions entered by Richard K. Thompson on July 19, 2017. Some very minor punctuation entered for clarity as they were sometimes not in the published version, but no text content is affected:

Emma Christina (sic. a/k/a Christine) Johnson was born April 22, 1858 near New Sweden in Jefferson County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Gust and Anna Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at an early age, and became a member of the New Sweden Lutheran church serving her Lord devotedly and faithfully in that congregation until her removal to Fairfield.

She was united in marriage to Charles Victor Larson March 27, 1879, and spent the first three years of her married life on a farm in Lower Richwoods, after which she and her husband bought a farm 3 miles northeast of Salina, where they resided until 13 years ago, last April at which time they moved to their present home at 401 South 6th St. Fairfield, Iowa.

After coming to Fairfield she became a member of the First English Evangelical Lutheran church where she served faithfully until she was called to her Heavenly home December 5, 1931, at the age of 73 years 7 months and thirteen days.

She was the mother of ten children, two having preceded her in death: Anna Corlelia who passed away at the age of one year and Myrtle Otilia in young womanhood. Those surviving are: her husband, Charles Victor Larson and eight children: Mrs. Lillie Johnson of Birmingham; James F., of Mt. Union; Mrs. Maud Hollander and Harris J. of near Salina, Elmer R., Mrs. Eva Overholser, Mrs. Pearl Gardner and Clifford L. of Fairfield; 19 grand children. She also leaves two brothers, William of near Burlington, and Alfred of Washington, also a host of nephews and nieces, neighbors and friends.

She has been a faithful wife being privileged to celebrate her 52nd wedding anniversary last March the 27th together with her loving husband who is 7 years older than she. Her loving, cheerful, devoted Christian life has ever been a blessed example and a rich heritage to her children who will even remember their sainted mother as teaching them to follow in Christ's footsteps, always putting Eternal things first, and her last prayer that all her family when life's work on earth is done, be united in Heaven ever serving and praising and being in the presence of her Lord and saviour (sic), Jesus Christ.

She has been ready and waiting for Jesus to call herr to her eternal home, during her last illness praying that He might come quickly. Now her prayer has been answered, and she has been called from this world of sin and sorrow and is at peace with her Saviour (sic) to welcome her children one by one and praying that her's may be a united family in Heaven. She can say with Paul in II Timothy 4:7-8: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course,I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of rightousness (sic), which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
