Mrs. John b. Fryberger died Friday evening at 11:20 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mr. C. B. Hallock, who lives 8 ½ miles northeast of Emporia on Route 2. Mrs. Fryberger had been sick about a week.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Sutton Funeral Home. Rev. O. E. Allison, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fryberger was the former Laura Ann Miller. She was born September 8, 1855, in Springsboro, Ohio. She came to Severance, Doniphan county, Kansas, in the fall of 1877. She came to Emporia in 1881. She spent the following years in Kansas City and Colorado and returned to Emporia in 1918. She was married to John Fryberger August 9, 1874, in North Manchester, Ind. Mrs. Fryberger was a member of the First Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. George W. Rowley, of Lamar, Colo., Mrs. Dale W. Shamp, of Beaumont, Calif., and Mrs. C .B. Hallock, of Emporia; two sons, Roy A. Fryberger, of Beaver Creek, Oregon, and Thomas C. Fryberger, Oregon City, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Hetherington, of Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Florence E. Hawkins, of Emporia; and eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Three sons precede her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Ann Fryberger, who died Friday, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Sutton Funeral Home. Rev. O. E. Allison, pastor of the First Methodist Church, conducted the services. Mrs. Page Nicklin and Albert Brown sang, accompanied by Miss Ester Rice. Pallbearers were Earl Hawkins, Jonas Hawkins, Clifford Hawkins, John Schureman, Ottis Nichols, of Soldier, and William Yost, of Kansas City. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. George W. Rowley, of Lamar, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. William Jose, Mrs. M.C. Hephergram, Mrs. Catherine Bernns, all of Kansas City; Mrs. O. E. Fryberger, Ottis Nichols and son, Junior, Mrs. Roy Harris, Mrs. Percey Gerason, and Miss Francis Fryberger, all of Soldier; Mr. and Mrs. William Parker, of Fall River, W. L. Miller of Eureka; and Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Monical, of Arkansas City.
