Maxine V. (Moore) DeLancy, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away July 2, 2010, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 4, 1931, at Harrisville, a daughter of the late Alvin K. and Elizabeth V. Moore.

She was employed at Yonkers and Misty Manufacturing and later became a housewife. She believed in the Bible, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the Billy Graham Ministries.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Ann Moore, Rita Gray and Deborah King, all in Indiana; two sisters, Wilma L. Thompson and Kathleen L. Riel; two brothers, Carlos R. Moore and Gary L. Moore, all of Parkersburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard E. DeLancy Sr.; two sons, Richard E. DeLancy Jr. and Raymond E. Dowler Jr.; one brother, Dennis R. Moore; and a sister, Donna M. Moore.

There will be a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Rick Brown officiating. There will be no visitation.

The family would like to thank the Transitional Care Skilled Nursing Unit of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital for the kindness and care given to Maxine during her stay there.

Kimes Funeral Home of Parkersburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
